How did this affect the people?

The citizens of the Philippines immediately protested against this bill from happening, but the protests didn’t stop the president from signing the bill. The consequences happened immediately, a popular news station was blocked from renewing their license. The higher ranked government officials have too much power because they get to decide who’s a terrorist. This bill allows them to abuse power but arresting political opponents by labeling a terrorist. Journals are limited to speak up in fear of being labeled a terrorist and facing the consequences. This limits the views of the news which may support one party of government.
